Everything you need to know about JioFiber
After successful launch of Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE services, Reliance Industries is now focussing on the set up of its ultra-fast broadband services JioFiber. It is in news ever since because of its high speed internet which is expected to give a speed of 100Mbps.
According to the latest news, it is expected to roll out in the coming month of June or later this year. The company is planning to make it first available in few select cities and later to expand its reach. It was earlier reported that the trial runs were being made in Mumbai but now Reliance is planning to test it in cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmadabad, Surat, Jamnagar and Chennai.
“The launch of Jio broadband service has been delayed due to the extension of Jio 4G commercial launch until 31 March. We can expect Jio broadband launch date after March 2017,” said company notes on its site.
However, JioFiber has already able to create a buzz in the market, and bring all the details of JioFiber that you need to know:
JioFiber Preview Offer
Similar to Jio 4G SIM card launch, Jio will offer the JioFiber for free for 90 days as a complimentary service. Under the offer, subscribers will get 100GB data per month at the speed of 100mbps. After exhausting the daily FUP, the speed will lower down to 1mbps but unlimited data consumption will be allowed.
Jio is planning to offer bundle of other services along with high-speed data connection. This includes 5GB cloud storage. In order to access free services for three months, the users have to pay the one-time fee of Rs 4500 as an installation charge. If the user decides to discontinue the service then the amount will be refunded.
Price after the free trial
However, there have been no concrete details on JioFiber pricing yet. But as per the rumors, the plans will start from Rs 500 and go to as high as Rs 5500.
How to get JioFiber?
Since the service is still under trial run in several big cities of India, so it is not available in market. The trials are being done by the Reliance Jio employees with availability of this trial plan being offered to other on the basis of availability of the service in a particular area. The trials are being run in these cities- Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Surat, Chennai, Jamnagar, Vadodara and Pune.
For the initial 90 days, it is expected to offer a speed upto 100Mbps. Reportedly, the JioFiber will also be available with 1Gbps plans.
The JioFiber plans are divided into three categories- Jio Giga Fiber Speed-based plans, Jio Giga Fiber Volume-based plans and Jio Giga Fiber Special broadband plan.
The Jio Giga Fiber Speed-based plans start from Rs 1500 and reach up to Rs 5500. With a recharge of Rs 1500, users get 2000GB data at 50 Mbps speed for 30 days. The users get 1000GB data at 100Mbps for a recharge of Rs 2000. At Rs 3500, users get a data of 750GB at 200Mbps speed. At a recharge of Rs 4000, 500GB of data is available at 400Mbps and similarly for Rs 5500, 300GB at a speed of 600Mbps.
The Jio Giga Fiber Broadband volume-based monthly plans start from 5GB. The 5GB daily plan costs Rs 1000, 10GB daily plan for Rs 2000, 20GB daily plan costs Rs 3000, 40GB daily plan for Rs 4000 and 60GB daily plan at Rs 5000. The validity of the plan is for 30 days.
The company also states that Jio Giga Fiber special broadband plan is for those who wishes to enjoy JioFiber broadband services at low cost. It will cost Rs 500, Rs 800 and Rs 1000.
